Anchors

Bent anchor bolts are embedded in concrete and used to support structural steel columns, light poles, highway sign structures, bridge rail, equipment, and many other applications. The bent portion, or “leg”, of the anchor bolt serves to create resistance so that the bolt does not pull out of the concrete foundation when force is applied.

Wedge anchors are designed to anchor objects into concrete. They are installed into a pre-drilled hole, then the wedge is then expanded. This causes the wedge to be securely anchored into the concrete. They are not removable after the anchor is expanded by tightening the nut.

Sleeve anchors allow for anchoring into concrete, brick or block. They typically consist of an anchor body and a long expansion clip. The expansion sleeve fits around the reduced diameter wedge. The sleeve anchor is inserted into a predrilled hole then expanded and securely anchored into the surface of the material.

Drive nail anchors are placed into holes drilled into concrete. Once the anchor is placed, a "pin" or nail is hammered into the anchor, expanding the anchor wedging itself into the concrete.

The latest innovation from Simpson Strong-Tie, AT-XP® anchoring adhesive has been formulated for high-strength anchorage of threaded rod and rebar into concrete under a wide range of conditions. AT-XP adhesive dispenses easily in cold or warm environments with little to no odor, and when mixed properly is a teal color for easy post-installation identification.

Code-listed per IAPMO UES ER-263 in accordance with ICC-ES AC308 and IBC 2009 requirements for cracked and uncracked concrete in static or seismic conditions, AT-XP anchoring adhesive has demonstrated superior performance in reduced-temperature testing (14°F (-10°C)), has NSF/ Standard 61 certification (43.2 in²/1000 gal), and is made in the USA.
